A search for greater clarity
Prof. K. S. Krishnamurti was a twentieth-century Indian astrologer associated with Tamil Nadu. Accounts of his work describe a careful student of both Indian and Western astrology who examined why similar-looking charts could produce different outcomes.
Rather than discarding earlier traditions, he sought a more consistent way to organise astrological judgement. His research developed into Krishnamurti Paddhati—“paddhati” meaning a method or system—named after its originator.

KP gives close attention to the nakshatra, or star, occupied by a planet and to the star lord's connections with relevant houses.
The sub-lord
Each nakshatra is divided unequally in Vimshottari dasha proportions. KP uses these sub-lords to make a more focused judgement about a specific matter.
Structured judgement
Cusps, significators, ruling planets and dasha periods are considered through defined rules instead of relying on one placement in isolation.
A living legacy
Prof. Krishnamurti's enduring legacy is a teachable framework for examining a clearly stated question. KP practitioners continue to study the relationship between cusps, planets, star lords, sub-lords, significators and timing periods.
